VIP All The Way for Coin-Op Machine Supplier Leisureplay

Last November, coin-op machine supplier Leisureplay were asked by BBC3 to supply a boxer machine for the filming of Staying In with Greg & Russell (as in previous blog) filmed at Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire.

One of the star guests on the show, Tinie Tempah, was so impressed with the machine he asked them to supply him with one for his games room in his home in London.

He has also been keen to show his new machine to his followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, kindly thanking Leisureplay in the process! Needless to say, he has a massive following – over 1.5m people on Twitter alone!

Within seconds of him putting pictures of his new boxer machine on his Facebook page, it received thousands of likes. Over 4000 people liked it on Instagram alone. So, soon we found that pictures of the boxer machine was being shared around the world to millions of Tinie’s fans.

The website had never received so many hits in one day! They have been inundated with people wanting a boxing machine to either buy or hire for their parties, and they can’t complain. It’s amazing to feel the power of social media.

Due to the level of service we have provided to Tinie, they were offered VIP tickets to any show of our choice on his latest tour and were able to bring along whoever they liked (within reason)!

They decided to make a weekend of it and Manchester was our choice of destination. The gig was at the Manchester 02 Apollo Manchester (formerly the Manchester Apollo).

The venue has a great history hosting Manchester’s greatest bands including Oasis, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and Joy Division. With a 3,500 capacity theatre the atmosphere was electric.

Tinie performing an amazing live set with his band and for us, the highlights of the night were hit singles Miami 2 Ibiza, Pass out and Tsunami that stormed to No1 in the Official UK Top 40 Charts recently.

Incredibly, after the concert they were given backstage VIP passes to the after show party. It was great to meet up with Tinie and his team again. They also introduced him to their partners Fiona and Becki and also their sister Zoe and brother-in-law Tim.

They had a good laugh with him and he took time to have photos taken with them all. Zoe promised she would “tag him in” on Instagram, which amused Tinie enough to insist on her giving him a “high five”.

Tinie went through great lengths to ensure he got his “favourite toy” installed in his home. He even had a window removed and had to hire a crane and a team of people to help! But he said it was worth it as the machine gets used all the time and he absolutely loves it.

They all had a great weekend and had a brilliant time visiting the best pubs and bars in Manchester. The next day, of course, they were back to reality – changing nappies, getting the kids ready for school and installing digital jukeboxes. But they had a moment with the stars and it will certainly go down as one of the best jobs they have ever taken on!
