Last week marked one of the most important events on the digital entertainment industry calendar with the EAG international show coming to London, and HireJukebox were eager to introduce the newest VenueHub model to the hordes of expectant attendees. Thankfully, it certainly didn’t disappoint.

“We were amazed at the crowd’s positive reaction at the EAG trade show in London,” enthuses Marc Bird, Hire Jukebox’s Business Development Manager. The digital jukebox’s pioneering ‘Dance Me’ app, in particular, had queues of excited fans forming at the Hire Jukebox stand to try out the fun, interactive app, including a few of Hire Jukebox’s own staff.

“Like everybody else, we gathered around and waited our turn to be transformed into a dancing star on the brand new jukebox,” admits Bird.

The app allows jukebox fans to create a comical video of themselves as one of a choice of animated dancing characters, using the VenueHub’s inbuilt camera to take a photo of the individual’s face and superimpose it onto the dancing cartoon. This hilarious video then plays on the jukebox screen as soon as the customer’s song begins. What’s more, jukebox users even have the option to share their personalised video with friends via email or social media, through the VenueHub’s direct online connection.

“Whoever imagined a few years ago that a coin operated jukebox could take your photo, turn you into John Travolta and send it to your friend the other side of the world in an instant?” questions an astounded Bird.

Having witnessed this enthusiastic response from EAG show attendees, and of course having enjoyed playing with the VenueHub’s new features himself, Bird can’t wait to see the digital models appear in pubs across the country.

“You can see how this brilliant new jukebox feature is going to go down a storm on many great nights out,” Bird attests earnestly, concluding, “It was a great way of bringing people together to have a good old laugh at one another.”
