Cutting Edge Digital Jukebox Features Spark Renewed Interest at the Geneva Bar

Peterborough landlord, Adam Black, is highly impressed with how the Geneva Bar’s upgraded digital jukebox has pulled in the crowds, overcoming his initial scepticism.

As a bar with an older fanbase, Black was hesitant to substitute the Geneva Bar’s basic digital jukebox with the latest VenueHub model, concerned his customers would find touchscreen controls confusing. Since installing the new jukebox though, he’s definitely been converted.

“They’ve picked it up like a duck to water,” enthuses Black, explaining “With that amount of music content and new features, I thought you may need a degree in computer technology, but it’s so user-friendly.”

Seeing how rapidly the Geneva Bar’s patrons have learnt to use the VenueHub’s drag and drop option and touchscreen scrolling, Black suspects many may already use iPads at home.

In fact rather than put customers off, the new touchscreen jukebox has actually renewed interest in music within the bar. Featuring over seven million available tracks, with new releases added on a weekly basis, the jukebox now offers greater choice than ever before.

“Because of the amount of music, we have not had one complaint,” vouches Black. As access to the latest tracks has driven pub-goers to check the jukebox more often, takings have also been boosted for the Peterborough pub.

Beyond this though, the VenueHub has spurred patrons to discover new music, outside of the usual popular artists, using the jukebox’s ‘Music Spider’ feature. This sophisticated recommendations service allows users to browse an on-screen spider diagram of other bands similar to their chosen artist.

Type Stone Roses, and the VenueHub displays branches leading to Oasis, Ian Brown and other related artists, reminding pub-goers of songs they had forgotten they loved. Users can also create a combined library of their favourite artists from which to select a song, for speedier browsing.

Taken aback by the accuracy of this intuitive suggestion tool, Black even reports, “Some of the customers have joked that Paul McKenna or Derren Brown must be hiding in there!”
